Food and Nutrition
We believe that food and nutrition are two of the most important factors in the well being of our residents. For a start good food is important for everyone's enjoyment of life and particularly for the elderly and the frail good nutrition is vital for sustenance and recovery.
At Three Corners we pride ourselves on the quality of the diets we offer as well as the range we can provide. Nearly all the food we offer is freshly homemade for each mealtime and as required, is tailored to the resident's needs.
- Individual assessment: each resident is individually assessed for their dietary needs, whether that be for medical or cultural requirements.
- Monitoring: during their stay with us we monitor each resident's food intake to ensure sufficient nutrition and balance in their diet.
- Homemade: nearly all food is freshly prepared on the premises by our own team of qualified cooks.
- Local ingredients: wherever possible we use local ingredients including locally reared meats, fresh, never frozen fish from the quayside at Brixham, eggs, potatoes and other vegetables from local farms. Wherever possible we buy organic.
- Dining: meals can be taken in the dining room or in a resident's own bedroom whatever is their preference.
- Quality: even where a resident is unable to take solids we ensure the same quality and balance in the diet and make the food as attractive as possible.
